SCHOOL OF NURSING & MIDWIFERY

The School of Nursing offers G.N.M and A.N.M courses.

The very first stone of the School of Nursing was laid way back in the year 1950 when A.N.M training was started. The General Nursing (G.N.M) training however was introduced in the year 1982. The training courses are affiliated to U.P. State Medical Faculty, Recognized by U.P. State Nurses & Midwives Council, Lucknow and Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi.

Our G.N.M and A.N.M courses prepare our students for providing quality care to their areas of work/ influence in future and impact the lives of their community.

G.N.M (Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery) is a three year regular and residential course. Application forms and prospectus are available in July/August every year. Currently there are 50 seats available for the GNM course.

Auxiliary Nurse and Midwife/ Mahila Swasthya Worker Course (A.N.M.) is a two year regular and residential course. Application forms and prospectus are available in July/August every year. Currently there are 40 seats available for the ANM course.

Eligibility Criteria

Admission to G.N.M.

  1. Minimum educational eligibility criteria:
  • 10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and English individually for any recognized board. Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government. However Science is preferable.
  • 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational ANM course from the school recognized by Indian Nursing council.
  • 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in Vocational Stream-Health care Science from a recognized CBSE board/Centre.
  • Registered ANM with pass mark.
  1. AGE: The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st December of the year in which admission is sought. The maximum age for admission shall be 35 years.
  2. Students should be medically fit.
  3. Students shall be admitted once in a year.
  4. Selection of candidate will be based on written and oral interview performance. The decision of the Selection Committee shall be final.

 

Admission to A.N.M

  1. The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.
  2. The maximum age for admission shall be 35 years.
  3. The minimum educational requirements shall be 10 + 2 in Arts (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, and Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Science or Health care Science – Vocational stream ONLY passing out from recognized Board.
  4. Student shall be medically fit.
  5. Students qualified in 10+2 Arts or Science examination conducted by National Institute of Open School.
  6. Student shall be admitted once in a year.

 

PARAMEDICAL COURSES

Diploma in Operation Theatre Technician Course

Diploma in O.T (Operation theatre) Technician Course was started in the year 2010. This is a 2 year regular course and is affiliated to U.P. State Medical Faculty Lucknow.

Diploma in Optometry 

Diploma in Optometry was also started in the year 2010. This is a 2 year regular course and is affiliated to U.P. State Medical Faculty Lucknow.

 Admission to Diploma in Optometry and Diploma in O.T technician course:

  1. 10 + 2 pass from a recognized state or central education board with minimum 40 % marks in science subjects (PCB/PCM)
  2. Age limit – 17-35 yrs. The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st December of the year in which admission is sought. The maximum age for admission shall be 35 years.
  3. Students should be medically fit.
  4. Students shall be admitted once in a year.
  5. The decision of the Selection Committee shall be final.
